We have changed the fuel pump four times this year. It does not hold it’s 60 PSI, it slowly drops. The relay was changed with the last fuel pump change. It ran OK for a while. Now when the car is cold the fuel pump will not work (no sound at all). Once it warms up the car will start but slowly looses its psi. The fuel pressure regulator was also changed. It slowed down how much pressure was lost but did not stop the loss of psi. Where do I go from here. Any solutions or suggestions? I also have a problem with coolant loss. I don’t know if it is somehow related or doesn’t matter at all. The leak is slow and I have not been able to find out where it is. I have to put more water/coolant in every couple of weeks other wise I have no heat. Any in put would be appreciated. Thank you, Tina

I had my water pump, brakes flushed and fuel filter replaced at a Ford dealership recently and it cost me $460. They told me I was going to need new intake gaskets because my old ones are “seaping”. They estimate that at around $400. I called Buffalo Tire and Auto and they said that it would only arround $250. Now I think I got ripped off on the water pump, brake flushing and fuel filter.

and I was wondering if anyone knows why I keep getting air in the line? It will do this all day, and sometimes it will come on a few times without a hitch. Could I have water in the fuel or a leak somewhere? It runs on fuel oil, and its about 3 years old.
its a forced air oil furnace…

I was driving yesterday when the engine on my Jeep just shut down. I was doing about 35 to 40 mph and experienced no knocks or odd noises prior to this. The Jeep does leak oil (about a quart a month), but I think this is due to age (1988) and mileage (over 275k).

When I turn the key, the engine sounds like it wants to kick over, but won’t get that bit of “fire” to completely start.

When I got home, I noticed the gas cap was gone and we have had rain for the last three days. I keep the Jeep in the garage at night, but we have received some rain during the day.

The electrical works fine.

Does it sound like there may be water/moisture in the fuel lines/gas tank?

What is the best home remedy?

If I use starter fluid to help start the engine, where do I spray it in the engine exactly?
