Which fuel has the most favourable enthalpy of combustion per carbon atom?

I know that water is not the answer for sure since it has no carbon..
I dont know about this question, plz help!

    ethane is the answer(b).
    C:O ratio (c-carbon; o-other element) is maximum.

    d) as ethanol produces some oxygen itself keeping oxygen requirement low and enthalpy high.
