water burning car
Mainly when the automotive ind. decides to earn less money and throw away part of the technology they’ve been using for about 90 years. But regarding alcohol it is already used in some countries like Brazil, but there is no big difference… we should go for hydrogen or solar… well actually water looks nice but I don’t think it’ll work.
fuel gas
There are laws against moonshine.
Nothing to stop you from making a solar-powered water dissociator, except the initial cost.

What is E85? It is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. The reason it is not pure ethanol is to prevent people from drinking it and to make sure government can collect road taxes. It is far less polluting to atmosphere.
Brazilians already use 100% alcohol, or something near that. Do they know something we don’t?
You betcha, how to make your car run on alcohol.
Dual Fuel Cars Revive Brazil’s Alcohol Industry…
By Mario Osava
The new “bi-fuel” vehicles could expand the use of renewable energy, which had been on the decline in the late 1990s.
RIO DE JANEIRO - Brazil’s automotive industry, which had made advances in using fuel alcohol as a means to confront the oil crisis of the 1970s, is taking another step, manufacturing cars that run on gasoline, alcohol or a mix of the two — and maintaining the same level of vehicle performance.
The car manufacturers Volkswagen, of German origins, and the U.S.-based General Motors put the first dual fuel vehicles on the market here in April and June, respectively. The technogical innovation is a result of Brazilian industry, although the two companies are transnationals.
The result benefits the environment, because reducing gasoline consumption and increasing alcohol use means lower emissions of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming, Manoel Paulo de Toledo, engineering and inspection manager for the Sao Paulo state technology and environment entity CETESB, told Tierramérica….
Try Googling “Brazil Automobile Alcohol” and you should pull up lots of relevant stuff.
You still have to pay ‘gasoline tax’ and will need to keep eact records of your mileage and comply with whatever your state’s requirements are, unless you buy your fuel at a pumping station where this is already included.
I believe engines are somewhat less powerful and get less mpg with alcohol, but best bet is to forget conjectures and ask the Brazilians about their actual, direct experience.
E85 CONVERSION KIT enables you to burn an E85 mix, pure ethanol or unleaded gasoline. You should check on availability of E85 in your state at the first url on top before converting:
