and I was wondering if anyone knows why I keep getting air in the line? It will do this all day, and sometimes it will come on a few times without a hitch. Could I have water in the fuel or a leak somewhere? It runs on fuel oil, and its about 3 years old.
its a forced air oil furnace…

   JOAQUIN

   Normally with fuel oil water will not be a problem, unless there is alot of it. It may be a leak somewhere in the line causing the problem. Especially with the furnace only being 3 years old.

   What are you bleeding? Is it oil heating water or oil through radiators or baseboard?

   I would go back to the manufacturer’s technical support department and talk to a technician who knows how it’s supposed to operate. Then take that knowledge to the company that installed your furnace.

   It sounds to me you might have a ***** in the line. Water shouldn’t be a problem with having air in the line.

   MONTE

   You have an air leek some were in the line. This also means your leaking fuel oil out: take a clean white rag and wipe the line down slowly, check the rag every two feet or so. You should start seeing heavy black dirt on the rag: then do the same thing with another clean rag from the other end, this will help locate the general area of the leek. Look for fittings to see if tight, filter mite be leaking, or a pin whole from rubbing contact: and fix it! DO NOT USE A MATCH TO FINE THE LEAK– Clean rags will work fine. Also check the pump for a leak er.
